Pat Nixon Centennial Patch
One of Pat Nixon's major initiatives as First Lady was the promotion of volunteerism, in which she encouraged Americans to address social problems at the local level through volunteering at hospitals, civic organizations, and rehabilitation centers.
She stated, "Our success as a nation depends on our willingness to give generously of ourselves for the welfare and enrichment of the lives of others." In honor of Pat Nixon, who was born the same year as the Girl Scouts we have created an exclusive "Pat Nixon Centennial Patch"
If you are registered for the event your can earn this unique patch at the event by: 1) Touring the First Lady Centennial room and completing a scavenger hunt based on the information and artifacts of her life. 2) Visiting the first lady’s rose garden to make a rose craft to look like the “Pat Nixon Rose” named after the first Lady in 1972. 3) Participating in the event's service project—Birthday in Box
Patch Cost - $.3.00 each
You can purchase both the Pat Nixon Centennial Patch and the Richard Nixon Birthplace Patch for $5.00

Former First Lady Pat Nixon
The Girl Scouts of the USA and former First Lady Pat Nixon, once the honorary president of Girl Scouts, share a birthday week. Pat Nixon was born on March 16, 1912 and the Girl Scouts of the USA were founded March 12, 1912.
Pat Nixon was the first First Lady to invite the Girl Scouts to visit the White House and later became active in the organization. Years later at the Nixon Library, the Yorba Linda Girl Scouts planted “Pat Nixon Roses” in her honor.
Every year the Girl Scouts of Yorba Linda pay tribute to our former first lady by hosting a huge birthday celebration at the Nixon Library and birthplace in Yorba Linda. The library is free to everyone on that day.
